Lucy Morgan Edwards

Dr Lucy Morgan Edwards worked for the UN in Kandahar while Osama bin Laden was based there. Following 9/11, she lived in Kabul for four years, taking various jobs in the Western state-building project and also working as a freelance journalist. Latterly Political Advisor to the EU Ambassador, covering narcotics, civil military affairs, and security sector reform, she spent time with a tribal family in Eastern Afghanistan undertaking research which formed the basis of her 2011 book The Afghan Solution: The Inside Story of Abdul Haq, the CIA and How Western Hubris Lost Afghanistan. After moving to New York in 2014, she began researching the events of 9/11, which was the justification for the so-called 'War on Terror'.
