Professor Diane Rasmussen welcomes Chris Dobson as a new contributor to UK Column as they hold a lighthearted discussion about art, beauty, and positivity.
Chris is a master craftsman who became an art historian. Born in the UK but now living in Italy, he has written about Florentine art and history since 2000. He believes that “human beings are naturally created to be creative”.
In his new podcast for UK Column, he will show viewers what he calls “absolute masterworks” and how they were made. He starts with Florentine Renaissance masterworks and goes further afield from there. He has also written an article for Issue 3 of The Column about an infamous event in the destruction and looting of cultural treasures in medieval Western Asia and its parallels to the post-9/11 world.
