Brian Gerrish sits down with UK Column member Rachel for a wide-ranging discussion about the state of our world and what we can do about it.
This is the second time Rachel has talked with Brian. UK Column supporter and member Rachel last visited the UK Column studio in November 2024 when she came into our studio for a sit down interview. She called in to say thank you for all of UK Column’s work, especially for keeping her sane during the very dark days of the Covid ‘plandemic’ lockdown. At that time, British-born Rachel was living in New Zealand and visiting the UK. She described to Brian the horrors she saw first hand in New Zealand under Covid restrictions and the public pushback that followed.
At the start of 2026, in a relaxed Sunday morning chat, Brian Gerrish again caught up with Rachel and her new life in Australia. Rachel covered a range of topics, including the more relaxed atmosphere ‘down under’ compared to New Zealand, the conversations on the beach, meeting neighbours, the loss of Christmas, being an immigrant, young teenagers banned from social media, her treasured book from the Wellington New Zealand lockdown protests, and more.
Rachel is a loyal member of UK Column because she values our news and analysis. Despite seeing people and society changing at a frightening rate, she stays cheerful, spreading a UK Column-style ‘wide awake’ message to her new countrymen and women down under.
Thank you to Rachel and her family.
