The Good Seed & The Tares

He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

- Matthew 13:36–43

The strapline on the website TheyWorkForYou invites visitors to find out what your MP is doing in your name. But what exactly have they been doing?

Our investigative journey begins with the examination of a 1953 debate from the House of Lords on the subject of the World Federation. The debate began:

That in the opinion of this House it should be a fundamental objective of the foreign policy of Her Majesty's Government to support and strengthen the United Nations, and to seek its development into a World Federation open to all nations with defined and limited powers adequate to preserve peace and prevent aggression through the enactment, interpretation, and enforcement of world law

During that debate it was recorded that Lord Birdwood said

we are a long way from the day when an Englishman will accept a law framed in Europe on British soil. And yet it is in [this], more deliberate, approach that I see the seeds of eventual success, in facing the citizen of the world with the blueprint of a plan, in letting him understand its implications, and having its acceptance by common consent, with no risk whatever of all of us waking up one day to discover that we are subject to an international dispensation which we had neither sanctioned nor understood.

One World Order denialists should note that as long ago as 1953 it was Lord Silkin who stated

Some of us who are members of the World Government Movement (as I have been, ever since its inception) believe that all this can be achieved through the machinery of the United Nations Organisation.

A little less than 50 years later we discover that the school curriculum was changed in order that pupils should be taught concepts such as: interdependence in the global world, world citizenship & environmental issues.

The first two concepts were completely alien to me and prompted me to search for definitions. Examination of a House of Lords debate in January 1999 on Citizenship and Democracy. Columns 440, 460 provides further interesting reading. In this short extract, Baroness Blackstone says:

My Lords, I am grateful to the noble Lord, Lord Phillips of Sudbury, for giving me the opportunity to speak about the Government's plans for citizenship education. For many years he has been a powerful advocate for effective citizenship, both in a personal capacity and through the work of the organisation which he chairs, the Citizenship Foundation ...

My noble friend Lady Young of Old Scone mentioned the importance of environmental education. Towards the end of last year the Government launched the Children's Parliament on the Environment, which will be for 11 year-olds. I believe that that will be important in stimulating pupils' commitment to having good environmental policies.

The youth services, voluntary groups and the further and higher education sectors also play their part, often in partnership with the various citizenship education groups. I can mention here the Common Purpose "Your Turn" project and the Council for Education in World Citizenship, of which my noble friend Lord Judd is honorary vice-president. He mentioned the importance of young people understanding interdependence in the global world, a view which the advisory group shares. There are also the community service volunteers, changemakers, the Institute for Citizenship and, of course, the Hansard Society, to mention a few. We shall want to draw on the expertise of all these different groups....I assure all those who have taken part in the debate that the Government will give education for citizenship and democracy a high profile in the reshaped curriculum from the year 2000.

Researching the two themes of Education and Democracy led firstly to The Convention on Modern Liberty. This organisation promotes itself as a group protecting the rights of the individual and they have recently been running a series of conferences in various cities across the UK. Secondly, when I checked the details for Cardiff, I discovered that the United Nations Association (UNA) Wales ran the parallel convention in Cardiff. Examination of the UNA website directs the reader to their aims which include :

Democracy - The United Nations Association is linked, at the international level, with over 80 UNAs through the World Federation of United Nations Associations

Education - Only through education and public awareness of the issues can effective, lasting change be achieved. UNA organizes Model UN General Assemblies (MUNGAs) where school and college students participate in topical debates, acting as 'representatives' of UN member states.

On page 2 of the United Nations 'NEW WORLD' magazine - Summer 2008 the headline asks:- Are they keeping their promises?and continues

YOUR MP should be actively holding the government to account in fulfilling the promises it has made on the world stage. This September world leaders will convene to renew the push to achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

To seek examples of such promises I made a quick visit to page 36 of the Cabinet Office list of Ministerial Responsibilities and spotted the responsibilities of the Minister of State (Public Health): The Rt Hon Dawn Primarolo MP who leads on Health Improvement National Programmes, including -

tobacco & smoking, alcohol, diet & nutrition, physical activity, obesity.

The following links clearly demonstrate where these responsibilities originate.

Tobacco & Smoking - The Framework Convention on tobacco control

Alcohol - WHO Euro region agrees a resolution on alcohol-related harm

Diet & Physical activity - Global strategy on diet, physical activity and health and Global diet and exercise plan approved

Obesity - WHO: Obesity: preventing and managing the global epidemic

A 2003 United Nations press briefing also informs us that

The Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization today issued a report on diet and chronic disease....The report includes advice on reducing foods rich in saturated fats and sugars, such as snacks and fast foods, cutting the amount of salt in foods, increasing the intake of fruit and vegetables, and increasing daily physical activity.

If you were wondering where Common Purpose fits in to the UK picture you need look no further than Local Partnerships and Local Area agreements. One example is provided by the Wolverhampton City Council Open green decision notice which tells us that

Through collaboration the Council and PCT are proactively promoting the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise. To this end, the Wolverhampton PCT Board approved the funding of a number of projects up to £1.3 million that will tackle the issues outlined above.

and that

Wolverhampton Community Sport & physical Activity network (CSPAN) has been established so that key stakeholders from across the city can work in collaboration to increase physical activity levels in Wolverhampton. The network is linked by common purpose to the Wolverhampton Partnership and contributes to the targets set in the Local Area Agreement (LAA).

There should be no doubt that our Political Parties make unenforceable pre-election manisfesto promises in order to gain power in Westminster. Once elected these manifesto promises are quietly discarded and the One World Government Agenda again takes priority. Such is the degree of political corruption and public deception that the blueprint of a plan discussed in the House of Lords in 1953 has never been communicated to the British electorate. In fact, those who claim that TheyWorkForYoupursue their International objectives from the shadows, whilst their third sector partners, such as Common Purpose, have been invisibly poisoning our children's minds with concepts such as Global Citizenship and Interdependence in a Global world.

On a daily basis we witness the carefully orchestrated dismantling of our National Institutions, the tearing up of our Constitution, the surrender of our National Sovereignty, the plundering of our cultural identity together with ever increasing interference and control over our lifestyle choices. Now is the time for all good men and women to stand up to the plate and join us at the British Constitution Group

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
