Medieval Flagellants
In a stunning display of the power of vox populi to destroy entire nations and cultures, a jury yesterday cleared six Greenpeace activists of criminal damage to a coal fired power station.
Without doubt, these “ecowarriors” feel entirely justified in smashing up things that we taxpayers, in our ludicrous efforts to keep this rapidly sinking economy afloat, feel somewhat justified in thinking are rather urgently required to solve the imminent energy crisis that these same dangerous Luddites have themselves helped to create over the last few decades.
Well, give yourselves a great big pat on the back guys, because you have now established the precedent for hundreds, perhaps even thousands of your fellow traveling medieval flagellants to conduct similar acts of willful destruction to our vital economic infrastructure.
Not that we need to be worrying about power shortages and massive hikes in our electricity bills of course. After all, the threat of anthropogenic global warming is a much bigger danger than that of a few coal fired power stations, right? Wrong.
Ok, I’ll tell you what, how about we stop making coal fired power stations altogether and get straight on with the urgent task of building that new generation of nuclear power stations we absolutely need in order to be free of fossil fuels for good. Excuse me, what do you mean you don’t support nuclear power? Surely, if you want to “defeat the threat of climate change” (an impossibility, but hey, who cares about syntax or logical consistency these days anyway) then surely the only viable solution to our energy needs has to be nuclear power?
Oh, I get it. If we actually do that and invest in infrastructure to solve our energy shortages, then your patron saint Al Gore, and his hedge fund buddies won’t get to steal what remains of our dwindling wealth with their swindles and scams. Well, good job again I say, it’s all part of the service you bog trotting lynch mobs provide to the ruling classes, all the while thinking you are saving the planet from nasty old humanity.

I would like to thank you for your article on the recent court ruling.
It seems that the case was won for the eco-terrorist by the testimony of
Dr. James Hansen of NASA. There is now a letter writing campaign to
sack James Hansen for is misuse of his office as Director of Goddard Institute
for Space Studies.

The question in the back of my mind is this ruling going to empower the eco-terrorist in other countries and seek similar rulings ? the other point will this ruling and the future
actions of the eco-terrorist cause the use of the anti-terror laws to come into effect which
would be a bigger problem that global warming would ever be.

Thanks for your comments. We are indeed extremely concerned about this issue, and in particular the timing of it, as it co-incides with the attempt to ram through the illegal and unconstitutional Lisbon treaty across Europe.
The government of this country is clearly engaged in an all out chaos operation and we are fully expecting them to encourage and promote as much violence and mayhem as possible to justify the EUROPOL invasion that will be required to control the backlash from the British public when they wake up on 2nd January 2009 and realize that they don’t have a country any more and are run by a bunch of unelected CP run quangoes who take their orders directly from Brussels and not from the electorate.
While the international strategic situation is of major concern to all thinking individuals, we at the column are focusing on the fight that must be waged in the local councils and Parliament of this country if England is going to survive with any form of representative government around which we can organise a recovery from the existential crisis that is now upon us.
To return to topic. I think the court`s desision in this case was entirely correct.

I should draw to your readers attention the activities of the Chief Constable of Kent who has recently crimilised the act of protest and is misusing his ( condiderable ) powers in a very oppressive fashion.
Within a single generation government has passed numerous criminal justice acts, each granting additional attacks on civil liberties. The following Acts highlight just how profligate the Labour government’s legislating machine has been in this area
-apparently with little effect on overall crime levels.
Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
Police Act 1994.
Terrorism Act 1997.
Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001.
Social Security Fraud Act 2001.
Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Proceeds of Crime Act 2003.
Criminal Justice Act 2003.
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) . 2003.
Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005.
Serious Organised Crimes and Police Act 2005.
Identity Cards Act. Et al.
The public order sections of all these acts have been employed by various police forces as an impediment to peaceful demonstrations. The same acts contain provisions which have been appropriated to harass and suppress individuals who planned future demonstrations.
If an authoritarian government were so minded, the compounded implementation of these acts would cause democracy ( and it’s expression ) to cease in the United Kingdom.
-so gentlemen, stop moaning about the little things and concentrate on the real issues. When was the last time you attended a public protest ?
Absolutely correct, spot on—all these law from probably the greatest of all criminal governments in our History with a totally corrupt police force throughout the land ready and will to pull the trigger at the drop of the ol’ hat.
This to me is plain pre-emptive course of action by a government preparing for massive social unrest.

Would you mind explaining to me how a “peaceful protest” now consists of criminal damage to private property? Do you honestly think that this kind of legal precendent is good news for the UK?
What next? Is it now ok to attack our own military and/or police on the justification that they could potentially “cause more damage”?
I agree with you that the state is indeed becoming more oppressive of dissent, but I do not agree that this kind of dissent should be encouraged or supported in any way if we are going to be a credible force for good against the establishment.
As for “moaning about little things”, I happen to think that the millions of deluded people running around this country believing in state sponsored fantasies like anthropogenic climate change, smashing up property and infrastructure, is actually a very serious issue, and just one way in which we may indeed get the enforcement of the very police state that you are highlighting in your comments.
I have attended a great many protests over recent years, but fail to see how that is relevant to the issue at hand.
I have to state that as much as I advocate peaceful protest via civil disobedience the establishment will make the first violent moved in retaliation.
That will be one step too fat and all hell will be unleashed by both sides of the fence.

Lets take the example of Mr Global Warming Spiv himself, Al Gore.
1. The Man is a racist. He got into politics in the first place with a seat in Congress as a reward for his part in the frame up of Morris Haddox, an African American political leader, who was trying to stop Nashville police from destroying the community by allowing unhindered narcotics trafficking and prostitution. This frame up was part of the FBI’s Operation Fruehmenschen (German for “early” or “primitive men”), in which black politicans and officials were illegally targeted and smeared, from the late 50’s until the mid 1970’s. Al’s racism came to public notice in 1999, when he condemned millions of Africans to a lingering death by denying them access to generic Aids drugs. So agenda number one for pushing the global warming fraud is racial – preventing 3rd world, and particularly African, countries from developing.
2. He benefits personally, via his financial interests. His hedge fund companies specialise in so-called “carbon trading”, another name for scamming millions of pounds (his companies are based in London, of course) from unsuspecting businesses in what can only be described as a private tax.
3. His house, never mind his wider lifestyle, consumes enough energy to fuel an average British city.
Point 3 proves how much he believes his own rhetoric. Points 1 and 2 demonstrate his motivation.

I am confused about this – I always assumed David Bellamy’s Broadcasting career ended because of his stance on Europe – I googled a bit and found this story from the Guardian:

Remember Robin Page – of BBC’s ‘One Man and His Dog’? Shared the same platform as Bellamy on Europe – he was told, after an appearance on ‘Question Time’ that he would never be allowed on the programme again. ‘One Man and His Dog’ was killed off to a huge furore (remember the headlines?)
