Government to review corporate sponsorships after revelations that convicted sex offender and friend of Prince Andrew funded events for grade school pupils
The government of the US Virgin Islands is to review its corporate sponsorships after it emerged that Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender and friend to Prince Andrew, gave gifts to school pupils and financed events for young children.
Epstein, who was jailed for soliciting girls as young as 14 for prostitution, funded a department of education science fair for grade school pupils on the islands in October last year. The 61-year-old paid to transport prize-winning children to the fair in St Thomas and funded their accommodation.
The Guardian has learned that Epstein’s two Virgin Islands-based corporations have also funded a summer camp for children with intellectual disabilities, provided a prize for a school essay-writing competition, given computers to a pair of high-performing 14-year-old students who were heading to high school, and provided Kindle e-readers to a school library.

The manager of Epstein’s companies is Cecile de Jongh, who until last week was also the first lady of the US Virgin Islands. Her husband, John, served two terms as governor from 2007 until this year.
Earlier this year (2008), deJongh and his wife, Cecile, hosted a fund raiser for Obama at the Ritz Carlton Resort.
Epstein’s company for several years also funded a basketball tournament on the US Virgin Islands for children as young as six.
Reached by telephone on Monday, John De Jongh declined to answer questions about Epstein. “I’m out of office now,” he said. De Jongh did not respond to an email and online message requesting comment. De Jongh’s spokesman as governor did not respond to a request for comment. Cecile de Jongh did not respond to a message left with her office. Several US Virgin Islands education officials responsible for overseeing the science fair declined to comment.

Legendary nightclub owner Johnny Gold celebrated his 70th birthday in style on Tuesday surrounded by the cream of the showbiz world. The First Lady of the Virgin Islands is overseeing all sorts of tax exemptions for this convicted pedophile Financial Trust Company, Inc.
Equally troubling is the fact that Cecile deJongh is a board member at the Antilles School on St. Thomas. The question that begs to ask is did this private school administration notify parents following Jeffrey Epstein’s Federal conviction that one of its board member was employed by a convicted sex offender? If notification did not go out to parents, the question becomes why not and why do Cecile deJongh continue to sit as a board member at this Virgin Islands private school in light of her close association to a pedophile?
It is also a fact that the United States Department of Interior Inspector General Mary Kendall founded in January 2010 that the deJongh’s private residence at Estate Mafolie was improved with half-a-million dollars in misappropriated (stolen) tax payers’ dollars.
First Lady Cecile deJongh is in no position to tell any parent how to raise their children until she resigns from the Financial Trust Company, Inc. and condemns her boss, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, actions against underage women.
Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. you owe the parents of the Virgin Islands an apology for your heartless and insensitive remarks you made about them during your 2013 State of the Territory address. You continue to be an embarrassment to the people of the Virgin Islands and you continue to conduct yourself as though you are above the law.
Epstein, Mrs. de Jongh’s employer, has also received tax breaks from the Virgin Islands Economic Development Corporation. Those benefits permit recipients to avoid some — and in some cases, all — of their tax burden if they live in the U.S. territory for the majority of a year and fulfill certain financial and development obligations to the local economy.
Greaux said he was unsure whether Cecile de Jongh helped Epstein apply for and receive his special tax benefits. He deflected questions to the Economic Development Corporation itself, which has not responded to TheDC’s requests for comment.
Gov. John de Jongh and the tax-break program have come under increased scrutiny in recent months. According to a knowledgeable source inside the U.S. Department of Justice, de Jongh accepted part of a $20 million cash-bribe payout from alleged financial criminals who are under sealed federal indictments, in exchange for favors from his administration.

Although there’s currently no reason to suspect the Royals, the fact of the matter, is that murdered human remains have been found at the Sandringham estate, currently occupied by The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Earl & Countess of Wessex.
They were informed of the discovery on Monday night [1]. The key word here being informed. This might seem like nitpicking to some, but if human remains had been found in the garden of any regular citizen, wealthy or on a council estate, would you expect them to simply be informed, or would the occupants be brought in for questioning?
One resident told the Telegraph:
“It is just a stone’s throw from the Stud and the Royals’ house. It is very close.”
Another stated, “It is quite a bit of a shock, given the proximity to the grounds itself. The area is really not that far from Sandringham House”.
Detectives investigating the murder of a teenager, Alisa Dmitrijeva, found on the Queen's Sandringham Estate said they have no new leads and were passing the case to the coroner.

Jeans, no socks, loafers, a button-down shirt, shirttails out. And he was followed onto the plane by—how shall I say this?—by three teenage girls not his daughters.
Soon after, Wolff was invited to tea at the house on East 71st Street. He understood that there was a purpose to the cultivation. Epstein was shifting his view to media, in his Über-way. “What does the media mean, where does he fit into it?” Then Epstein began to show up in the press. In 2002, he flew Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey to Africa on his plane to discuss aids policy, and suddenly he was being written about. In 2003, he became a discreet confidant to Wolff during the period when Wolff was involved in a bid for New York Magazine.
Sometime after that, Wolff saw the financial architect (Epstein) in his office at 457 Madison Avenue, the Villard House, where Random House once had its offices. “His literal office is where Bennett Cerf’s was. It’s an incredibly strange place.
It has no corporate affect at all. It’s almost European. It’s old—old-fashioned, unrehabbed in its way.” Nearby, Wolff went on, “the trading floor is filled with guys in yarmulkes. Who they are, I have no idea. They’re like a throwback, a bunch of guys from the fifties. So here is Jeffrey in this incredibly beautiful office, with pieces of art and a view of the courtyard, and he seems like the most relaxed guy in the world. You want to say ‘What’s going on here?’ and he gives you that Cheshire smile.”
The dazzling arc of Epstein’s comet came to an end—without his knowing it—in March 2005. That was when a distraught woman called the police in Palm Beach and, after at first refusing to give her name, said that she believed her 14-year-old stepdaughter had been molested by a wealthy man. The stepmother had learned about the matter in a roundabout way. The girl lived during the week at an “involuntary-admitted juvenile educational facility” because of behavior problems. She had shown up at the school with $300 in her purse
Palm Beach Island is a 3.75-square-mile spit of land famous for towering ficus privacy hedges on Mediterranean-influenced architecture that begins at over $5 million for a single-family home. But the police did their work miles across the water, in the sprawling, drab subdivisions of West Palm Beach, where, according to police reports, high-school girls had been recruited to visit Epstein’s house. The 14-year-old was used to set up her 18-year-old go-between, Haley Robson. Robson had massaged him once and thereafter refused, but had agreed to procure girls, for $200 a head. “I’m like Heidi Fleiss,” she said. The police net went wider, to malls and community colleges, and Olive Garden restaurants and trailer parks, and the story was always the same. Skinny, beautiful young girls were approached by other girls, who said they could make $200 by massaging a wealthy man, naked. Robson said Epstein had told her the younger the better

Epstein mounted an aggressive counterinvestigation. Epstein’s friend Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard law professor, provided the police and the state attorney’s office with a dossier on a couple of the victims gleaned from their MySpace sites—showing alcohol and drug use and lewd comments. The police complained that private investigators were harassing the family of the 14-year-old girl before she was to appear before the grand jury in spring 2006. The police said that one girl had called another to say, “Those who help [Epstein] will be compensated and those who hurt him will be dealt with.”

Finally, in July 2006, the Palm Beach County state attorney’s office handed down one indictment of Epstein on a felony count of soliciting prostitution. There is no reference to minors in the indictment. Reiter was enraged. He released a letter he had sent out to five underage girls that read “I do not feel that justice has been sufficiently served.”
Epstein’s lawyer said that Reiter was out of control, but the police chief was having an effect. The U.S. Attorney’s office began an investigation, and the dream team added another member, Kenneth Starr, the former Clinton prosecutor.

There is no better place to observe how Epstein’s mathematics work than Palm Beach. The only signs of life are crews of Spanish-speaking laborers on teetering ladders clipping the high hedges, not far from Bulgari and Valentino and Tiffany. It is a few miles on the other side of the bridge to where the girls came from, the shabby sprawl of West Palm Beach, with trailer parks, boys crouched on motor scooters, and pickup trucks under sun tents. Haley Robson’s house is on an unpaved road by an irrigation ditch. An attractive blonde in her forties answers the door wearing pistachio Capri pants, and promptly slams it. “We have absolutely no comment about the Epstein case.”

Each searches out and grooms new talent — people who can add to this group’s considerable wealth, knowledge and power.
But men need not apply: this exclusive club is women-only.
It is called Belizean Grove, and if you haven’t heard of it, you’re not alone. Founded 12 years ago (1999), it operates mostly under the radar. The first time it received any real public attention was in 2009, when it became known that Sonia Sotomayor, now a Supreme Court justice, was among its 125 or so members.
Despite its low profile, Belizean Grove is fast becoming what could be considered the world’s ultimate old girls’ club. Perhaps that’s no surprise, as it is modeled on one of the nation’s most exclusive old boys’ clubs, Bohemian Grove. That hush-hush group, an extension of the 139-year-old Bohemian Club in San Francisco, has counted so many rich and powerful men among its ranks — including the presidents Eisenhower, Carter, Nixon and both Bushes — that it sounds like something out of a Dan Brown novel. Indeed, in 1942, the men of Bohemian Grove, who meet each summer under a canopy of redwoods in Monte Rio, Calif., dreamed up the Manhattan Project.
Some members of Belizean Grove are working on a mission of their own: the White House Project. Its goal is to have a woman elected president.
“Grovers,” as the members are known, tend to be in their 50s and 60s, and though most are not household names, they represent a rare confluence of wealth and influence. They serve as directors of companies including Xerox, Procter & Gamble, NYSE Euronext, Nasdaq, Nordstrom, DSW, PetSmart and REI. Some previously held high-level positions at blue-chip companies but then left to form their own businesses.
The group’s membership process remains confidential. But it is known that one or more members select a candidate and shepherd her through meetings with a membership committee.
Members also include a Canadian senator and the chief operating officer of the Episcopal Church.
Many are Americans, but others are from countries including Colombia, Ecuador, Iceland and New Zealand.
The group’s roughly 115 “grovers,” as members call themselves, include ambassadors and top executives of Goldman Sachs, Victoria’s Secret and Harley-Davidson. They meet each year for an annual retreat in Belize or another Central American destination, as well as occasionally in New York and other cities for outings described as “a balance of fun, substantive programs and bonding.” The group’s Web site does not appear to mention any roles for men.
Belizean Grove has connected the top women in technology to the top women in finance, to the top women in media, to the top women in law, to the top women in retail, and so on.
Ms. Stautberg is also a co-founder of WomenCorporateDirectors, which comprises 850 women who serve on more than 1,000 corporate boards worldwide. WomenCorporateDirectors is a talent bank for businesswomen, and Ms. Stautberg helps many high-ranking women build their sphere of influence, but it takes more than a C-suite title to be considered for Belizean Grove. “Everyone has a phenomenal résumé to get into the Grove,” she says.
Some might say the concept of Belizean Grove smacks of elitism.
At Belizean retreats, which are held in January or February, Grovers introduce themselves at an opening dinner and areencouraged to mix with participants they don’t know. Two-thirds of the attendees will have roommates. Occasionally, women who have never met will bunk together (hmm)
In the evenings, the women might attend a reception at the United States embassy with the host country’s leading politicians and dignitaries.
Belizean Grove formed a group called Today’s Already Rising Achievers, or TARA, for women in their 30s and 40s. The TARAs, with a membership of about 45, are invited to join Grovers for the last two days of their retreats and to participate in less formal events throughout the year.
Events are designed to provide “hands on” advice from people who have “been there and done that.”

As last week's horrifying news from France dominated the European and global news cycles, much of the media's attention toward the growing allegations of British political elite being involved in a ring of child rape has notably subsided. Online, however, a group of activists...have been pushing for more attention to be brought to this deeply unsettling issue percolating in the UK
Just as Britain was processing the shocking news of child rape and murder by its political elite, in January, Prince Andrew was accused of having sex with a minor who alleges she was the "sex slave" of a billionaire. A lawsuit brought against the US Department of Justice by a woman named Virginia Roberts has alleged that Jeffrey Epstein—a disgraced financier and known friend of Prince Andrew who, in 2008, pleaded guilty to "felony solicitation and procuring a person under the age of 18 for prostitution"—had forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew.
Epstein himself is no stranger to allegations and lawsuits pertaining to sexual crimes involving children. Three 12-year-old girls were allegedly brought to Epstein from France as a "birthday gift."
He has also been sued over a dozen times by girls who claim they were abused while underage, all of which were settled out of court.
A former Palm Beach Police Chief whose department investigated Epstein in 2005, after complaints were brought to them by the parents of a 14-year-old girl, told the Daily Beast that Epstein's case was "minimized by the State Attorney's Office, then bargained down by the U.S. Department of Justice."
When asked about the media attention to this issue so far, Marsh rated it "ridiculously low," adding that this is "the biggest story to break in the UK in centuries."
She continued: "What media coverage there is from the more prominent outlets is a diversion instead of investigation. Media has consistently depicted the rape, torture, murder, abduction, and blackmail of children as 'child sex' or a 'sex scandal' and the child victims as 'prostitutes' or even 'rent boys.'"
The connection between Epstein and Prince Andrew, Marsh believes, "could potentially implicate members of the royal household and others in their circle in not just complicity in the crimes of child trafficking and rape but also in obstruction of justice and influence peddling in criminal networks."
In critiquing the media coverage of the Prince Andrew allegations thus far, Marsh pointed out that it is often "presented as a 'salacious' story about 'Prince Andrew's personal life' instead of the matter of urgent public interest it is." She went on to say: "The equally urgent stories [about high-profile human trafficking rings] in other countries are also ignored in both their own and international media, and all of these stories are presented as isolated incidents instead of the interconnected global network of influence and potential blackmail they are part of."
...it is true that much of the reporting on the Prince Andrew allegations fails to contextualize it against the Scotland Yard-approved claims of a British VIP child rape and murder syndicate,

A judge has ordered the disgraced tycoon’s lawyers to come up with “extraordinary circumstances” as to why papers believed to contain the names of key figures, including the Duke of York, who lobbied on his behalf in a plea bargaining case should be kept secret.
If they fail, it means Andrew’s alleged efforts to protect 61-year-old Epstein could be revealed in full, sparking major embarrassment at Buckingham Palace.
federal judge Kenneth Marra, 63, has now told the former banker to give him a valid reason why the 15,000 pages of documents should remain sealed.
He wrote: “Public policy favours judicial records being open to the public.
Sources said Epstein’s army of lawyers are frantically working round the clock to come up with a such a reason.
Court filings say the material potentially includes “letters of recommendation or similar communication to any [US] government official vouching for or providing support for Jeffrey Epstein”.

Scotland Yard said: “A third party, with no involvement in the matter, has approached us. Officers are considering this. Our current activity does not constitute an investigation.”
Commander Spindler led Operation Yewtree through its investigation into the crimes of Jimmy Savile and oversaw a string of high-profile arrests.

A woman alleged to have been the fixer for Jeffrey Epstein, a pedophile and friend of Bill Clinton, has herself long had ties to the former president of the United States. Indeed, it's clear that even as her associate, Epstein, admitted to procuring sex with someone under the age of 18 and registered as a sex offender in 2008, Ghislaine Maxwell's relationship with the Clintons flourished.
Maxwell is the president and founder of a non-profit that helps protect the ocean, the TerraMar Project. And as recently as 2013, she attended the Clinton Global Initiative, where her charity made a public commitment. The press release from the Clinton Global Initiative read, "Sustainable Oceans Alliance Commitment by: The TerraMar Project . Partners: Michael Dorsey; Global Partnerships Forum In 2013, the TerraMar Project committed to launch the Sustainable Oceans Alliance (SOA) to mobilize the international community and the public at large on the importance of the Oceans and the Seas and to ensure that the 193 UN Member States recognize and incorporate oceans in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to be adopted in 2015."
The TerrMar Project commitment is still listed on the Clinton Foundation website. And that remains, even after Maxwell's involvment in the Epstein pedophile scandal continues to grow and continue to raise questions about former President Bill Clinton.

Westminster child abuse inquiry link to Prince Andrew paedophile associate
Over the last couple of days newspapers and the blogosphere have been awash with stories about the civil suit in the USA that includes an allegation that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, had sex with an under-age girl – Virginia Roberts – courtesy of Jeffrey Epstein, a US business associate of the prince and a convicted paedophile.
Now we can reveal that one of the names listed in Epstein’s address book was the man who oversaw the first inquiry into a Westminster paedophile ring. Sir Michael Havers

1. The Havers connection?
According to the legal submission Jeffrey Epstein’s personal phone book included 26 numbers for Prince Andrew alone. We can also reveal that Epstein’s phone book includes the contact details of Sir Michael Havers, the former British Attorney-General: this may be of significance given that Havers oversaw the first inquiry into the notorious Westminster paedophile ring. Havers was Attorney General 1979-87 and has been subject to a number of allegations, including that he helped to stop the Elm Guest House investigation, tried to stop Sir Peter Hayman being named in Parliament by Geoffrey Dickens MP and tried to limit the inquiry into the Kincora boys home sex scandal.
Havers’ sister, Baroness Butler-Sloss, was forced to stand down as head of another, second inquiry into child sex abuse on a wider scale....
On the night before the seafront hotel was hit by an IRA bomb attack, he claims he saw senior MPs engaging in sex acts with boys below the age of consent at a “corridor party” held in a row of rooms on the fourth floor.

The suggestion of a sex-ring servicing a super-elite first came to light 10 years ago when the stepmother of high school student Virginia Roberts told Florida police that the then-17-year-old had claimed to have had sex with a middle-aged man in return for money. The stepmother had questioned the girl after her teacher had found $300 in her purse. She said the girl had told her she'd been having sex for money for three years.
The Florida authorities have since identified around 40 other potential victims of Epstein's operation. Their accounts are said by US Attorney Ann Marie Villafana to be "numerous and overlapping". The youngest victims were three 12-year-old French schoolgirls, said to have been given to Epstein as a birthday present.
Ten days ago the paper reported that these encounters, which it said were corroborated by the flight logs for Epstein's private planes, had taken place over more than a decade at venues including Windsor Castle and the Queen's estate at Sandringham, Norfolk. The pair are said to have flown to Saint-Tropez to have dinner together and to have enjoyed holidays in Thailand. Andrew has been pictured in Thailand surrounded by topless women.
He has also been pictured with his arm around Ms Roberts, apparently at the London home of Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of the late publishing tycoon and fraudster Robert Maxwell.
Epstein, from an unremarkable background in Brooklyn, became fabulously wealthy in just a few years while working for Bear Stearns, the finance house which helped crash the world economy when it choked on its own greed in 2008.
Which brings us back to Davos, where the Swiss armed forces have had to open up a military base to accommodate the 1,700 private jets bringing the creme de la creme of the global elite together to discuss, according to Newsweek on Monday, "terrorism, the central banks and growing economic inequality".

Lawyers ask Prince Andrew to respond under oath about claims of sex with 17-year-old girl
Details of the request, contained in a letter addressed to Andrew at Buckingham Palace asking him to take part in a two-hour interview, were contained in a new legal submission filed by the woman, Virginia Roberts, in a Florida court on Wednesday.
The court bundle also contains a sworn affidavit from Roberts, providing new details about the sexual encounters she alleges she had with Andrew on three separate occasions beginning when she was 17 and working for Jeffrey Epstein, a former hedge fund boss since convicted for soliciting sex with a minor.
Roberts also claimed that Epstein required her to recount personal details about her alleged sexual encounter with Andrew, adding: “Epstein appeared to be collecting private information about Andy.”
The new documents were filed 24 hours before Andrew is due to carry out his first public engagement since Roberts levelled broad allegations at him in court papers on 30 December.
Palace aides have indicated that Andrew may use a televised speech during the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday night to address the controversy over his relationship with Epstein and personally reinforce Buckingham Palace’s forceful denials of Roberts’s accusations. Shortly after the court documents were filed on Wednesday, a Palace spokesperson said: “We have nothing to add to our earlier comments.”
In the affidavit, Roberts states: “I have seen Buckingham Palace’s recent ‘’emphatic’ denial that Prince Andrew had sexual contact with me. That denial is false and hurtful to me. I did have sexual contact with him, as I have described here under oath. Given what he knows and has seen, I was hoping that he would simply voluntarily tell the truth about everything. I hope my attorneys can interview Prince Andrew under oath about the contacts, and that he will tell the truth.”
She adds in her affidavit that she has instructed her attorneys “to pursue all reasonable and legitimate means to have criminal charges brought against these powerful people for the crimes they have committed against me and other girls”. The affidavit does not state which powerful individuals Roberts wants to see criminally indicted.
Wednesday’s court submission from Roberts, referred to in legal documents as Jane Doe 3, is her first legal move since her lawyers submitted a motion that named Andrew among several rich and powerful men she alleged she had been loaned out to by Epstein.

It is two weeks since Miss Roberts dropped her bombshell claim in a U.S. court that she was a schoolgirl 'sex slave' forced to submit to abuse by Andrew and other rich and powerful men, all of whom fiercely deny any wrongdoing.
She claimed she had been groomed for sex since 15 by billionaire Epstein – said to be 'addicted' to molesting children - and his 'madame' Ghislaine Maxwell, the daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell.
Legal papers filed in Palm Beach, Florida, claim underage Miss Roberts 'was forced to have sexual relations' with Andrew 'in three separate geographical locations: in London (at Ghislaine Maxwell's apartment), in New York, and on Epstein's private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands (in an orgy with numerous other under-aged girls).'
The flight logs for Epstein's luxury black Gulfstream jet are not publicly available 'at the request of the owner'.
But the Mail has seen entries for March and April 2001 showing Miss Roberts being flown on a six-day whirlwind tour from Palm Beach to Canada, Paris, Grenada in Spain, Tangier in Morocco, and finally touching down at London's Luton airport on March 9.
There is nothing in the Court Circular about the Duke's whereabouts, but Miss Roberts says this was when the now-notorious photo was taken of herself with him at Miss Maxwell's London apartment.
A month later, on Monday April 9, the Duke began an official visit to the United States in his capacity as chairman of the trustees of the Outward Bound Trust. The same day, Miss Roberts also flew to New York. She and Epstein left his £8million mansion in Florida and the flight log (above) shows they flew aboard his 22-seat Gulfstream - with its personalised licence code ending 'JE' – to New York via Atlantic City

That day's Court Circular states he departed 'this morning' from London's Heathrow Airport, arriving later that day. As it was an official trip, the flight was funded by British taxpayers.

She and Epstein left his £8million sugar-pink mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, dubbed the 'house of sin', and the flight log shows they flew aboard his 22-seat Gulfstream - with its personalised licence code ending 'JE' – to New York via Atlantic City.
Miss Maxwell allegedly 'asked Andrew how old he thought I was and he guessed 17 - and Ghislaine made a joke that I was getting too old for Jeffrey'.
Miss Roberts said she was sent to dance with Andrew at Tramp nightclub, where he was 'pouring with perspiration' and 'the most hideous dancer I had ever seen'.
When they returned to Miss Maxwell's apartment, she alleges she had a bath with the Prince – who 'started licking my toes' – before they had sex.
The next morning, a Tuesday, he flew to Boston for a series of royal engagements, including spending the night on a Boston harbour island with 60 sixth formers taking part in an Outward Bound wilderness training programme.
The next place she alleges abuse was in the Caribbean.
The flight logs show that Miss Roberts and Epstein departed New York on April 11 aboard the Gulfstream jet for St Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands, for a boat transfer to Epstein's private island next door.
When asked whether Andrew stopped at Epstein's island en route to the Bahamas, a Buckingham Palace spokesman declined to confirm or deny the suggestion.
According to Miss Roberts' claims in newspaper interviews, the Duke was there for one night, during an 'orgy' with eight girls.
Roberts' lawyers, former federal judge Paul Cassell and Bradley Edwards, tried to have a letter delivered to Buckingham Palace earlier this week seeking such an interview but the letter was turned away, according to The Guardian.
"This letter is a formal request on behalf of Mr. Edwards and Professor Cassell to interview you, under oath, regarding interactions that you had with (Roberts) beginning in approximately early 2001," the letter reads. "(Roberts) was then 17 years old."
The letter included a picture, now familiar to British news consumers, of Andrew with Roberts, his arm wrapped around her waist, her midriff bare.
Meanwhile, flight logs of Epstein's private jet, which appeared in the Daily Mail and then disappeared online, compared with records of Andrew's public engagements, show that Roberts and Andrew were both in London, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands when she claims they had the sexual encounters.

The government of the US Virgin Islands is to review its corporate sponsorships after it emerged that Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender and friend to Prince Andrew, gave gifts to school pupils and financed events for young children.
Epstein, who was jailed for soliciting girls as young as 14 for prostitution, funded a department of education science fair for grade school pupils on the islands in October last year. The 61-year-old paid to transport prize-winning children to the fair in St Thomas and funded their accommodation.
The Guardian has learned that Epstein’s two Virgin Islands-based corporations have also funded a summer camp for children with intellectual disabilities, provided a prize for a school essay-writing competition, given computers to a pair of high-performing 14-year-old students who were heading to high school, and provided Kindle e-readers to a school library.

Epstein’s company for several years also funded a basketball tournament on the US Virgin Islands for children as young as six.
Reached by telephone on Monday, John De Jongh declined to answer questions about Epstein. “I’m out of office now,” he said. De Jongh did not respond to an email and online message requesting comment. De Jongh’s spokesman as governor did not respond to a request for comment. Cecile de Jongh did not respond to a message left with her office. Several US Virgin Islands education officials responsible for overseeing the science fair declined to comment.

Press chief to Bishop of Truro charged with 15 child sex offences

A former press chief for the Bishop of Truro has been charged with sexual offences against children.
Jeremy Dowling, 76, of Church Path, Bude, is due to appear before Bodmin magistrates on January 22.
He faces 15 charges of sexual assault against children aged under 16.
Mr Dowling retired as communications officer for the Truro Diocese in 2009, having worked for several bishops over the previous 25 years (since 1984).
He was also a governor at Budehaven School for 18 years, before stepping down in 2013.

Although there’s currently no reason to suspect the Royals, the fact of the matter, is that murdered human remains have been found at the Sandringham estate, currently occupied by The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Earl & Countess of Wessex.
They were informed of the discovery on Monday night [1]. The key word here being informed. This might seem like nitpicking to some, but if human remains had been found in the garden of any regular citizen, wealthy or on a council estate, would you expect them to simply be informed, or would the occupants be brought in for questioning?
One resident told the Telegraph:
“It is just a stone’s throw from the Stud and the Royals’ house. It is very close.”
Another stated, “It is quite a bit of a shock, given the proximity to the grounds itself. The area is really not that far from Sandringham House”.
Detectives investigating the murder of a teenager, Alisa Dmitrijeva, found on the Queen's Sandringham Estate said they have no new leads and were passing the case to the coroner.
She was seen in a green Lexus car with two men.

Vanity Fair columnist Michael Wolff met him in the Internet bubble, in the late nineties, when Epstein invited him and a group of scientists and media types to fly to a conference on the West Coast in his beautiful 727. “It was all a little giddy,” Wolff says. “There’s a little food out, lovely hors d’oeuvre. And then after fifteen to twenty minutes, Jeffrey arrives. This guy comes onboard: He was my age, late forties, and he had a kind of Ralph Lauren look to him, a good-looking Jewish guy in casual attire. Jeans, no socks, loafers, a button-down shirt, shirttails out. And he was followed onto the plane by—how shall I say this?—by three teenage girls not his daughters.
Soon after, Wolff was invited to tea at the house on East 71st Street. He understood that there was a purpose to the cultivation. Epstein was shifting his view to media, in his Über-way. “What does the media mean, where does he fit into it?” Then Epstein began to show up in the press. In 2002, he flew Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey to Africa on his plane to discuss aids policy, and suddenly he was being written about. In 2003, he became a discreet confidant to Wolff during the period when Wolff was involved in a bid for New York Magazine.
Sometime after that, Wolff saw the financial architect (Epstein) in his office at 457 Madison Avenue, the Villard House, where Random House once had its offices. “His literal office is where Bennett Cerf’s was. It’s an incredibly strange place.
It has no corporate affect at all. It’s almost European. It’s old—old-fashioned, unrehabbed in its way.” Nearby, Wolff went on, “the trading floor is filled with guys in yarmulkes. Who they are, I have no idea. They’re like a throwback, a bunch of guys from the fifties. So here is Jeffrey in this incredibly beautiful office, with pieces of art and a view of the courtyard, and he seems like the most relaxed guy in the world. You want to say ‘What’s going on here?’ and he gives you that Cheshire smile.”
The dazzling arc of Epstein’s comet came to an end—without his knowing it—in March 2005. That was when a distraught woman called the police in Palm Beach and, after at first refusing to give her name, said that she believed her 14-year-old stepdaughter had been molested by a wealthy man. The stepmother had learned about the matter in a roundabout way. The girl lived during the week at an “involuntary-admitted juvenile educational facility” because of behavior problems. She had shown up at the school with $300 in her purse
Palm Beach Island is a 3.75-square-mile spit of land famous for towering ficus privacy hedges on Mediterranean-influenced architecture that begins at over $5 million for a single-family home. But the police did their work miles across the water, in the sprawling, drab subdivisions of West Palm Beach, where, according to police reports, high-school girls had been recruited to visit Epstein’s house. The 14-year-old was used to set up her 18-year-old go-between, Haley Robson. Robson had massaged him once and thereafter refused, but had agreed to procure girls, for $200 a head. “I’m like Heidi Fleiss,” she said. The police net went wider, to malls and community colleges, and Olive Garden restaurants and trailer parks, and the story was always the same. Skinny, beautiful young girls were approached by other girls, who said they could make $200 by massaging a wealthy man, naked. Robson said Epstein had told her the younger the better

Epstein mounted an aggressive counterinvestigation. Epstein’s friend Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard law professor, provided the police and the state attorney’s office with a dossier on a couple of the victims gleaned from their MySpace sites—showing alcohol and drug use and lewd comments. The police complained that private investigators were harassing the family of the 14-year-old girl before she was to appear before the grand jury in spring 2006. The police said that one girl had called another to say, “Those who help [Epstein] will be compensated and those who hurt him will be dealt with.”

Finally, in July 2006, the Palm Beach County state attorney’s office handed down one indictment of Epstein on a felony count of soliciting prostitution. There is no reference to minors in the indictment. Reiter was enraged. He released a letter he had sent out to five underage girls that read “I do not feel that justice has been sufficiently served.”
Epstein’s lawyer said that Reiter was out of control, but the police chief was having an effect. The U.S. Attorney’s office began an investigation, and the dream team added another member, Kenneth Starr, the former Clinton prosecutor.

There is no better place to observe how Epstein’s mathematics work than Palm Beach. The only signs of life are crews of Spanish-speaking laborers on teetering ladders clipping the high hedges, not far from Bulgari and Valentino and Tiffany. It is a few miles on the other side of the bridge to where the girls came from, the shabby sprawl of West Palm Beach, with trailer parks, boys crouched on motor scooters, and pickup trucks under sun tents. Haley Robson’s house is on an unpaved road by an irrigation ditch. An attractive blonde in her forties answers the door wearing pistachio Capri pants, and promptly slams it. “We have absolutely no comment about the Epstein case.”

“Grovers,” as the members are known, tend to be in their 50s and 60s, and though most are not household names, they represent a rare confluence of wealth and influence. They serve as directors of companies including Xerox, Procter & Gamble, NYSE Euronext, Nasdaq, Nordstrom, DSW, PetSmart and REI. Some previously held high-level positions at blue-chip companies but then left to form their own businesses.
The group’s membership process remains confidential. But it is known that one or more members select a candidate and shepherd her through meetings with a membership committee.
Members also include a Canadian senator and the chief operating officer of the Episcopal Church.
Many are Americans, but others are from countries including Colombia, Ecuador, Iceland and New Zealand.
The group’s roughly 115 “grovers,” as members call themselves, include ambassadors and top executives of Goldman Sachs, Victoria’s Secret and Harley-Davidson. They meet each year for an annual retreat in Belize or another Central American destination, as well as occasionally in New York and other cities for outings described as “a balance of fun, substantive programs and bonding.” The group’s Web site does not appear to mention any roles for men.
Notable members of the Belizean Grove include former General Services Administration Administrator Lurita Doan and U.S. Army General Ann E. Dunwoody.[2][6] High-level executives from Goldman Sachs, Victoria's Secret, and Harley-Davidson also belong to the Grove, as do some ambassadors.[5] Other business leaders include: Davia Temin,[7] CEO and Founder of Temin and Company, Catherina Allen, CEO of Santa Fe Group,[8] and Ann Kaplan of Circle Financial Group.
Belizean Grove has connected the top women in technology to the top women in finance, to the top women in media, to the top women in law, to the top women in retail, and so on.
Ms. Stautberg is also a co-founder of WomenCorporateDirectors, which comprises 850 women who serve on more than 1,000 corporate boards worldwide. WomenCorporateDirectors is a talent bank for businesswomen, and Ms. Stautberg helps many high-ranking women build their sphere of influence, but it takes more than a C-suite title to be considered for Belizean Grove. “Everyone has a phenomenal résumé to get into the Grove,” she says.
Some might say the concept of Belizean Grove smacks of elitism.
At Belizean retreats, which are held in January or February, Grovers introduce themselves at an opening dinner and are encouraged to mix with participants they don’t know. Two-thirds of the attendees will have roommates. Occasionally, women who have never met will bunk together (hmm)
In the evenings, the women might attend a reception at the United States embassy with the host country’s leading politicians and dignitaries.
Belizean Grove formed a group called Today’s Already Rising Achievers, or TARA, for women in their 30s and 40s. The TARAs, with a membership of about 45, are invited to join Grovers for the last two days of their retreats and to participate in less formal events throughout the year.
Events are designed to provide “hands on” advice from people who have “been there and done that.”

The Grove also has meetings during the year “on the mainland”, mostly in New York, but also in other key cities around the US. We try to schedule the events as far in advance as possible in order to allow time for members to attend.
There are a range of programs, including insider’s/behind the scenes events at members’ workplaces, book parties and discussions, and leaders from around the world, in candid off-the-record sessions.

As last week's horrifying news from France dominated the European and global news cycles, much of the media's attention toward the growing allegations of British political elite being involved in a ring of child rape has notably subsided. Online, however, a group of activists...have been pushing for more attention to be brought to this deeply unsettling issue percolating in the UK
Just as Britain was processing the shocking news of child rape and murder by its political elite, in January, Prince Andrew was accused of having sex with a minor who alleges she was the "sex slave" of a billionaire. A lawsuit brought against the US Department of Justice by a woman named Virginia Roberts has alleged that Jeffrey Epstein—a disgraced financier and known friend of Prince Andrew who, in 2008, pleaded guilty to "felony solicitation and procuring a person under the age of 18 for prostitution"—had forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew.
Epstein himself is no stranger to allegations and lawsuits pertaining to sexual crimes involving children. Three 12-year-old girls were allegedly brought to Epstein from France as a "birthday gift."
He has also been sued over a dozen times by girls who claim they were abused while underage, all of which were settled out of court.
A former Palm Beach Police Chief whose department investigated Epstein in 2005, after complaints were brought to them by the parents of a 14-year-old girl, told the Daily Beast that Epstein's case was "minimized by the State Attorney's Office, then bargained down by the U.S. Department of Justice."
The core of Roberts's claim against the DOJ is that they should throw out the plea deal given to Epstein in 2007.
When asked about the media attention to this issue so far, Marsh rated it "ridiculously low," adding that this is "the biggest story to break in the UK in centuries."
She continued: "What media coverage there is from the more prominent outlets is a diversion instead of investigation. Media has consistently depicted the rape, torture, murder, abduction, and blackmail of children as 'child sex' or a 'sex scandal' and the child victims as 'prostitutes' or even 'rent boys.'"
The connection between Epstein and Prince Andrew, Marsh believes, "could potentially implicate members of the royal household and others in their circle in not just complicity in the crimes of child trafficking and rape but also in obstruction of justice and influence peddling in criminal networks."
In critiquing the media coverage of the Prince Andrew allegations thus far, Marsh pointed out that it is often "presented as a 'salacious' story about 'Prince Andrew's personal life' instead of the matter of urgent public interest it is." She went on to say: "The equally urgent stories [about high-profile human trafficking rings] in other countries are also ignored in both their own and international media, and all of these stories are presented as isolated incidents instead of the interconnected global network of influence and potential blackmail they are part of."

Dolphin Square is not and never has been an ordinary block of flats.
To get an idea of how it once was, one only has to go back to the Thirties and the opening of the restaurant and swimming pool. While the guests looked down from the restaurant - all shining copper doors and columns - "beautiful showgirls" reclined by the pool and swimmers dressed as dolphins and waterlilies performed a water ballet to orchestral accompaniment.
The apartments in Pimlico were a bit raffish, a bit elitist and very, very fashionable: a by word for indulgence.
The biggest perk of all, how ever, has always been the rent. Under a 1964 deal, there was a significant subsidy for (pre-1990) tenants who used their apartments at least four nights a week and did not have a second property in London.

A judge has ordered the disgraced tycoon’s lawyers to come up with “extraordinary circumstances” as to why papers believed to contain the names of key figures, including the Duke of York, who lobbied on his behalf in a plea bargaining case should be kept secret.
If they fail, it means Andrew’s alleged efforts to protect 61-year-old Epstein could be revealed in full, sparking major embarrassment at Buckingham Palace.
federal judge Kenneth Marra, 63, has now told the former banker to give him a valid reason why the 15,000 pages of documents should remain sealed.
He wrote: “Public policy favours judicial records being open to the public.
Sources said Epstein’s army of lawyers are frantically working round the clock to come up with a such a reason.
Court filings say the material potentially includes “letters of recommendation or similar communication to any [US] government official vouching for or providing support for Jeffrey Epstein”.

Pedophile's 'Fixer' Maintains Close Ties to the Clintons

A woman alleged to have been the fixer for Jeffrey Epstein, a pedophile and friend of Bill Clinton, has herself long had ties to the former president of the United States. Indeed, it's clear that even as her associate, Epstein, admitted to procuring sex with someone under the age of 18 and registered as a sex offender in 2008, Ghislaine Maxwell's relationship with the Clintons flourished.
Maxwell is the president and founder of a non-profit that helps protect the ocean, the TerraMar Project. And as recently as 2013, she attended the Clinton Global Initiative, where her charity made a public commitment. The press release from the Clinton Global Initiative read, "Sustainable Oceans Alliance Commitment by: The TerraMar Project . Partners: Michael Dorsey; Global Partnerships Forum In 2013, the TerraMar Project committed to launch the Sustainable Oceans Alliance (SOA) to mobilize the international community and the public at large on the importance of the Oceans and the Seas and to ensure that the 193 UN Member States recognize and incorporate oceans in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to be adopted in 2015."
The TerrMar Project commitment is still listed on the Clinton Foundation website. And that remains, even after Maxwell's involvment in the Epstein pedophile scandal continues to grow and continue to raise questions about former President Bill Clinton.
As Vanity Fair reported in 2011, “[Ghislaine Maxwell’s] Rolodex would blow away almost anyone else’s I can think of—probably even Rupert Murdoch’s. She is passionate about Bill Clinton, with whom she is close friends.” Maxwell has raised money for Clinton and his library.

In papers issued to the court on Tuesday, Epstein's high-powered legal team say she previously told "the FBI not to bother her again".
They say she repeatedly refused to bring a complaint before the six years of statute of limitations passed.
A ruling will now be made by high ranking Judge Kenneth Marra as to whether to throw out her case.
If granted it would put an end to potential court proceedings in Florida from Roberts.
The move comes as flight records emerged which show Virginia Roberts and the Duke were in the same place on the dates she says they met.
Log details, published by the Daily Mail, from Jeffrey Epstein's private jet show Virginia Roberts and publicly-held records of Prince Andrew's engagements show they both in London, New York and the US Virgin Islands when she claims the had sexual encounters.
The Duke, 54, has issued categorical denials that she was "sexually abused" by him.
The palace has confirmed Prince Andrew will speak at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland as planned.
Reports suggest he may even address the sexual allegations directly.
Thursday’s event will be at a five-star hotel in host resort Davos but the prince is expected to stay in the £13million Klosters ski chalet he and ex-wife Fergie have bought

He has been slotted in to speak tomorrow morning about his Pitch@Palace scheme which aims to "provide a path to success" for young entrepreneurs.
The suggestion of a sex-ring servicing a super-elite first came to light 10 years ago when the stepmother of high school student Virginia Roberts told Florida police that the then-17-year-old had claimed to have had sex with a middle-aged man in return for money. The stepmother had questioned the girl after her teacher had found $300 in her purse. She said the girl had told her she'd been having sex for money for three years.
The Florida authorities have since identified around 40 other potential victims of Epstein's operation. Their accounts are said by US Attorney Ann Marie Villafana to be "numerous and overlapping". The youngest victims were three 12-year-old French schoolgirls, said to have been given to Epstein as a birthday present.
Ten days ago the paper reported that these encounters, which it said were corroborated by the flight logs for Epstein's private planes, had taken place over more than a decade at venues including Windsor Castle and the Queen's estate at Sandringham, Norfolk. The pair are said to have flown to Saint-Tropez to have dinner together and to have enjoyed holidays in Thailand. Andrew has been pictured in Thailand surrounded by topless women.
He has also been pictured with his arm around Ms Roberts, apparently at the London home of Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of the late publishing tycoon and fraudster Robert Maxwell.
Epstein, from an unremarkable background in Brooklyn, became fabulously wealthy in just a few years while working for Bear Stearns, the finance house which helped crash the world economy when it choked on its own greed in 2008.
Which brings us back to Davos, where the Swiss armed forces have had to open up a military base to accommodate the 1,700 private jets bringing the creme de la creme of the global elite together to discuss, according to Newsweek on Monday, "terrorism, the central banks and growing economic inequality".
What a laugh they will have. Where else in the world would Andrew feel so at home?

Lawyers ask Prince Andrew to respond under oath about claims of sex with 17-year-old girl
Details of the request, contained in a letter addressed to Andrew at Buckingham Palace asking him to take part in a two-hour interview, were contained in a new legal submission filed by the woman, Virginia Roberts, in a Florida court on Wednesday.
The court bundle also contains a sworn affidavit from Roberts, providing new details about the sexual encounters she alleges she had with Andrew on three separate occasions beginning when she was 17 and working for Jeffrey Epstein, a former hedge fund boss since convicted for soliciting sex with a minor.
Roberts also claimed that Epstein required her to recount personal details about her alleged sexual encounter with Andrew, adding: “Epstein appeared to be collecting private information about Andy.”
The new documents were filed 24 hours before Andrew is due to carry out his first public engagement since Roberts levelled broad allegations at him in court papers on 30 December.
Palace aides have indicated that Andrew may use a televised speech during the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday night to address the controversy over his relationship with Epstein and personally reinforce Buckingham Palace’s forceful denials of Roberts’s accusations. Shortly after the court documents were filed on Wednesday, a Palace spokesperson said: “We have nothing to add to our earlier comments.”
In the affidavit, Roberts states: “I have seen Buckingham Palace’s recent ‘’emphatic’ denial that Prince Andrew had sexual contact with me. That denial is false and hurtful to me. I did have sexual contact with him, as I have described here under oath. Given what he knows and has seen, I was hoping that he would simply voluntarily tell the truth about everything. I hope my attorneys can interview Prince Andrew under oath about the contacts, and that he will tell the truth.”
She adds in her affidavit that she has instructed her attorneys “to pursue all reasonable and legitimate means to have criminal charges brought against these powerful people for the crimes they have committed against me and other girls”. The affidavit does not state which powerful individuals Roberts wants to see criminally indicted.
Wednesday’s court submission from Roberts, referred to in legal documents as Jane Doe 3, is her first legal move since her lawyers submitted a motion that named Andrew among several rich and powerful men she alleged she had been loaned out to by Epstein.

They reveal Virginia Roberts was in London, New York and the Caribbean - the three places she claims she was forced to have sex with the Duke - at the same times as he was.
The Duke emphatically denies 'any sexual contact or relationship' with Miss Roberts, then aged 17.
A Mail investigation has obtained logs of the teenager's flights aboard Andrew's paedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein's private jet in 2001, and compared them to official reports, including the Court Circular, of the Duke's globetrotting during the same period - some of it funded by taxpayers.
The comparison shows
they were both in London in March - when she claims the photo was taken of her with Prince Andrew with his arm snaking around her bare midriff –
in New York in early April,
and in the Caribbean later the same week.

It is two weeks since Miss Roberts dropped her bombshell claim in a U.S. court that she was a schoolgirl 'sex slave' forced to submit to abuse by Andrew and other rich and powerful men, all of whom fiercely deny any wrongdoing.
She claimed she had been groomed for sex since 15 by billionaire Epstein – said to be 'addicted' to molesting children - and his 'madame' Ghislaine Maxwell, the daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell.
Legal papers filed in Palm Beach, Florida, claim underage Miss Roberts 'was forced to have sexual relations' with Andrew 'in three separate geographical locations: in London (at Ghislaine Maxwell's apartment), in New York, and on Epstein's private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands (in an orgy with numerous other under-aged girls).'
The flight logs for Epstein's luxury black Gulfstream jet are not publicly available 'at the request of the owner'.
But the Mail has seen entries for March and April 2001 showing Miss Roberts being flown on a six-day whirlwind tour from Palm Beach to Canada, Paris, Grenada in Spain, Tangier in Morocco, and finally touching down at London's Luton airport on March 9.
There is nothing in the Court Circular about the Duke's whereabouts, but Miss Roberts says this was when the now-notorious photo was taken of herself with him at Miss Maxwell's London apartment.
A month later, on Monday April 9, the Duke began an official visit to the United States in his capacity as chairman of the trustees of the Outward Bound Trust. The same day, Miss Roberts also flew to New York. That day's Court Circular states he departed 'this morning' from London's Heathrow Airport, arriving later that day. As it was an official trip, the flight was funded by British taxpayers.
The same day, Miss Roberts also flew to New York.
She and Epstein left his £8million sugar-pink mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, dubbed the 'house of sin', and the flight log shows they flew aboard his 22-seat Gulfstream - with its personalised licence code ending 'JE' – to New York via Atlantic City.
Miss Maxwell allegedly 'asked Andrew how old he thought I was and he guessed 17 - and Ghislaine made a joke that I was getting too old for Jeffrey'.
Miss Roberts said she was sent to dance with Andrew at Tramp nightclub, where he was 'pouring with perspiration' and 'the most hideous dancer I had ever seen'.
When they returned to Miss Maxwell's apartment, she alleges she had a bath with the Prince – who 'started licking my toes' – before they had sex.
The next morning, a Tuesday, he flew to Boston for a series of royal engagements, including spending the night on a Boston harbour island with 60 sixth formers taking part in an Outward Bound wilderness training programme.
The next place she alleges abuse was in the Caribbean.
The flight logs show that Miss Roberts and Epstein departed New York on April 11 aboard the Gulfstream jet for St Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands, for a boat transfer to Epstein's private island next door.
When asked whether Andrew stopped at Epstein's island en route to the Bahamas, a Buckingham Palace spokesman declined to confirm or deny the suggestion.
According to Miss Roberts' claims in newspaper interviews, the Duke was there for one night, during an 'orgy' with eight girls.

Lawyers ask Prince Andrew to respond under oath about claims of sex with 17-year-old girl
"This letter is a formal request on behalf of Mr. Edwards and Professor Cassell to interview you, under oath, regarding interactions that you had with (Roberts) beginning in approximately early 2001," the letter reads. "(Roberts) was then 17 years old."
The letter included a picture, now familiar to British news consumers, of Andrew with Roberts, his arm wrapped around her waist, her midriff bare.
Meanwhile, flight logs of Epstein's private jet, which appeared in the Daily Mail and then disappeared online, compared with records of Andrew's public engagements, show that Roberts and Andrew were both in London, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands when she claims they had the sexual encounters.
