Brian Gerrish speaks to Colum Canning, a former senior manager at Ulster Bank. Colum Canning resigned from the bank when he was asked to apply policies to bsuinesses which he was uncomfortable with. These polcies resulted in otherwise viable businesses being asset stripped and liquidated, all in the dash for cash at the bank.
Colum Canning subsequently assisted with the Tomlinson Report. This story is very much current, as more than 400 companies try to force the Financial Conduct Authority to take action over RBS’s behaviour.
Ulster Bank is a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
