Would you, as a right thinking honourable soul, with a conscience and integrity – or even half a brain – build a monument to someone who had deliberately misled almost a whole nation?

When Edward Heath told the British Nation, clearly and simply “signing The Treaty of Rome will NOT affect National Sovereignty.” He lied with intent to deceive, he was in dishonour.

He later admitted that he had known that full integration and EU rule would be the final outcome as the release of Cabinet papers, buried under the 30 year secrecy rule can prove.

In 732 AD, Charles “The Hammer” Martel, military and political leader of the Franks during the Merovingian dynasty, attacked and routed an invading Moorish army at Tours, bringing to an abrupt end decades of incursion by Islamic invaders.

The effects of the collapse in the real economy globally are being felt in China. Nevertheless they continue to invest in science and infrastructure, the two key requirements for future growth.

There is no doubt that China is suffering as a result of the global economic downturn. Electricity generation levels collapsed in April; up only 0.7% in the last 12 months. China's shipyards have received almost no orders this year. Housing sales are collapsing. Manufacturing outputs are falling.

These are all indicators that the Chinese economy is faltering, and, of course, the inevitable rhetoric from the world's financiers to the Chinese government is "we must have easing!"

They all think I’m out of touch! How does that work? It isn’t supposed to happen this way! Ken is supposed to tell me what to do, I’m supposed to do it, and you lot are supposed to love me for it! That’s what Ken and Michael have been telling me since I was a boy. And now 82% of you lot hate my guts! It’s not fair! It isn’t!

I mean, how am I supposed to concentrate on the important stuff like World War Three when I have all these stupid Hunts running around getting me into trouble?

And it’s not even limited to the idiots I have working with me. Now they’re getting at me about Strange Sammie, our new nanny! A smoking, drinking, shoplifting, swearing Aussie, they’re calling her. Streuth!

And then there’s Ed. How can anyone like Ed more than me? Have you lot such short memories?

In his latest blog post on the Telegraph website, entitled "Forward to Fascism with Compass and its 'Progressive Protectionism'", Tim Worstall offers a critique of a new report from Compass, the left wing think tank/pressure group.

Worstall opens his piece with:

In 1748, French political thinker, Montesquieu, identified in De l’esprit des lois the three branches of government between which power should be allocated and separated: the executive which takes action to implement the law, defend the nation, conduct foreign affairs and administer internal policies; the legislative which makes law, and the judiciary which applies the law to determine disputes and punish criminals. According to the doctrine the executive cannot make law. Neither can the legislative determine disputes or any of the branches exercise the power of the other.

On 13 April 2012 Daily Mail Columnist Richard Littlejohn scornfully reported that aside from an incredible 5 fire appliances attending the scene, 25 Firemen were stopped from entering a 3 feet deep pond to rescue a Seagull in distress because of "elf'n'safety" rules.

Littlejohn commented that:

The relentless march of political interference and the institutionalised insanity of elf’n’safety has turned firefighters into figures of ridicule and derision.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development if predicting that Britain will fall back into recession this quarter.

George Osborne on the other hand, says we won't. Commenting on the OECD forecast, he said:

This is a forecast... Our own forecast from our own independent body, which we published last week, says we are going to avoid a recession.

Our own independent body?

What planet is this man on? How can any body be "our own" and "independent" at the same time?

Although the attention of the British public has long been distracted by Media Disinformation campaigns there are still occasions when the press publish a small fragment of an issue of constitutional importance.

For example, when reading about the recent troubles in Eqypt I was intrigued by a comment contained within the article Hillary Clinton says Egypt needs transition towards democracy. The article reported that

Numerous sources, both mainstream and alternative, are reporting of a convergence of events in March that point to a massive break point in the ongoing financial collapse.

On the surface, we are told that “all is well in dodge city”, with the usual stuffed suit cast of characters rustling their prize winning financial shenanigans cattle from one summit to the next, apparently without stopping to water their horses, or oil their saddles. But the stark reality is that the cattle are getting seriously restless, to the point of stampede, for those at the sharp end of their steel capped “fiscal compact” riding boots.

So, at last you are all starting to see me for what I really am. You lot thought I was ineffectual, weak, empty headed and devoid of all personality. You probably thought I was some kind of soulless clone. You were right, but I am also absolutely determined to do what I’m told. As soon as Ken gets his whips out, I know what I must do.

But I am getting mighty hacked off by the speed that my MPs are willing to act. Don’t they appreciate who we are all working for? If they did, they’d work harder, I can tell you. Austin Mitchell has it absolutely right when he calls them “mundane hacks” not fit to be at Westminster. They’re going to get a shock. Because if we don’t succeed in meeting the targets I have been set, they will be right there in the camps with you lot. These idiots don’t know what’s good for them.

In the first decade of the 5th century AD, in the years before Alaric marched his Visigoth horde into Rome and sacked the city, Britannia was, albeit temporarily, at peace. In the four hundred years since the first Roman invasion, tyrannical military force had largely tamed the native Celtic population, bringing classical education, economic stability, and ultimately, even Christianity to the Islands, following its adoption as the official religion of the Empire in 313 AD.

We normally think of history as one catastrophe after another, war followed by war, outrage by outrage – almost as if history were nothing more than all the narratives of human pain, assembled in sequence. And surely this is, often enough, an adequate description. But history is also the narratives of grace, the recounting of those blessed and inexplicable moments when someone did something for someone else, saved a life, bestowed a gift, gave something beyond what was required by circumstance ...

The Israeli Ambassador in Bangkok admitted yesterday that the bombs discovered in Bangkok were similar to those used in the recent attacks in India and Georgia.

The targets of the Bangkok bombs is not clear, but Israel is taking as much political mileage from it as they can. "We can assume from the other experiences that we were the target," said Itzhak Shoham, Israel's ambassador to Thailand.

Speaking about the bombs, Shoham said, "they are similar to the ones used in Delhi and in Tbilisi. From that we can assume that there is the same network of terror."

The targetting of Israeli diplomats In Georgia and India comes hot on the heals of the exposure of Mossad involvement in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists.

The bombing by an attacker apparenly on a motorcycle, of an Israeli diplomat's car in New Delhi, injured four people.

The New Delhi attack took place just a few hundred meters from the prime minister's residence as the Israeli diplomat's wife was being driven to the American Embassy School to pick up her children, said Delhi Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta. As the car approached a crossing, she noticed a motorcyclist ride up and stick something on it that appeared to be a magnetic device, he said.

A simultaneous attack in Georgia seems to have been foiled.

Investigations into abuse, racism, pornographic videos, abuse of trust and neglect at Oxford and Cherwell Valley College have now restarted following exposure by the UK Column. But victims remain concerned that those who failed to protect them originally are again leading the investigation, and there will be a cover-up.

Photographed below holding a letter of support from his MP Andrew Smith, Daniel Arnold is just one brave victim who is now determined to help other victims and bring perpetrators to justice.

The British led drive for war with Russia, using an attack on Iran as the touch paper, continues with William Hague taking point.

Referring to the EU imposition of an oil and precious metals trading embargo on Iran, announced on the 23rd January, Hague said, “the U.K. has been looking for an unprecedented set of sanctions and that is what we have agreed … This shows the resolve of the European Union on this issue. It is absolutely right to do this when Iran is continuing to breach United Nations resolutions and refusing to come to meaningful negotiations on its nuclear program, The EU is taking a very strong lead in world affairs and we strongly welcome this.”

Commissioned by Common Purpose sponsor David Cameron, the Leveson Inquiry is tasked to examine the culture, practices and ethics of the press, in four modules. These are: 1. The press and the public, including phone-hacking and illegal behaviour 2. The press, police and public interest 3 The press and politicians. 4.  Recommendations for a more effective policy and regulation that supports integrity, ethical standards and freedom of the press.

It all sounds ‘apple pie and ice cream’, but should we trust Leveson? In the public interest, let’s look at evidence and report it in a straight and ethical way.

Many people believe this inquiry is necessary, seeing that the press and media have, over time, adopted practices which are intrusive, sensationalist and, as with the phone hacking scandal, unlawful.

For many observant Christians, 2012 is a year of deep trepidation, a time in which the realisation of biblical prophecies of the “end times” is widely feared to begin in earnest. And yet, in the confusion and educational paucity of our times, much of the true history of western civilisation from the birth of Christ and days of the patristic fathers, through the rise and decline of Rome, its resurrection in the Byzantine, later Anglo-Dutch (Venetian) Empires, and finally to current history in the era of 21st Century “globalisation”, remains murky at best to the majority of self described biblical scholars.

All preceding ages, without knowing it or aiming at it, have striven to bring about our human century. Ours are all the treasures which diligence and genius, reason and experience, have finally brought home in the long age of the world. Only from history will you learn to set a value on the goods from which habit and unchallenged possession so easily deprive our gratitude; priceless, precious goods, upon which the blood of the best and the most noble clings, goods which had to be won by the hard work of so many generations!

It seems that Bibi and Barry are best of friends again. Operation Austere Challenger 2012, the joint Israeli/US military "exercises", which were cancelled following a spat between Presidents Netanyahu and Obama, have been rescheduled for October.

Operation Austere Challenge 2012 will be the largest joint Israel/US military exercises in history. The exercises will involve 3000 troops, as well as the deployment of the United States' Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system and the ship-based Aegis system. Israel’s own Arrow, Patriot and Iron Dome missile systems will work in cooperation with their US counterparts.

The news today that Martin Smith has hanged himself in his prison cell has both shocked and saddened us.

The news today that Martin Smith has hanged himself in his prison cell has both shocked and saddened us. In a way, we should not be shocked. Martin had made it clear that he would kill himself if he got the chance, and it saddens us that we could not do more to help him.

The stories in today’s media were disgraceful. Full of vitriol; painting Martin as a heinous, perverted paedophile, they destroy his memory while at the same time heaping praise on the disgusting system which permitted the miscarriage of justice that branded Martin with those labels.

Scientists have achieved a milestone in the effort to build the future ITER fusion reactor.

Nuclear fusion should be the future of any sane government energy policy. It is the most energy dense method of power generation that we are aware of. It's clean, and it doesn't emit any of those harmful, poisonous, carbon dioxide fumes we hear about from time to time.

Whereas nuclear fission - the type of nuclear power generation in use today - occurs when energy is released as the result of splitting an atom apart, fusion occurs when atomic nucleii fuse together to form a heavier nucleus. This is the process going on inside the Sun.
