The UK Column has been steadily growing over the last year or so. We have outgrown the capabilities of the present website platform, so we have decided to make some significant upgrades over the coming months. The first of these is the move to full discussion forums.
What will that mean?
First of all, unfortunately, we will all need to create accounts. That’s the downside.
The upside for our readers is proper threaded discussions on many topics, including the articles posted here. Instead of a “leave a comment” box at the bottom of future articles, there will be a direct link to the relevant thread on the forums. You will be able to send each other messages without having to post email addresses in public.
You will be able to edit your own posts, add attachments, include images, links to other sites are easy. We will be able to move posts which are posted to the wrong place by accident (it does happen). And so on.
So there you have it. Step one of the upgrades. I will be publishing a roadmap for the upgrades to the site as a forum post, but in the meantime, if you have any comments or suggestions about this change, please let us know.
Also tell us if there are any subjects you feel should have their own forum.
