   lol. First off id like to thank you guys I read this column last night after a day of train delays, bus delays and a mega headache, but after reading this my headache misteriously disappeared, now seeing i cant pin point which comment had the desired affect, ill give credit to you all..so thank you.

   To make this a discussion board rather than a one sided assault on NLP, and individuals Id like to make some comment if I will.

   Seeing you have all shown great investigative skills, Im sure you are all aware that NLP was started in the early 70’s by two guys named Richard Bandler and John Grinder, after modelling (finding out a strategy for what people do skillfully) initially world class therapists, most famously Milton Erickson (hypnotherapy) & Virginia Satir (family therapy), both therapists in the nature of helping people, not manipulators like Hitler or cult leaders, which Im sure they would have opted for If their intention was to have better manipulation skills.

   The truth is the vast majority of people that go into NLP do so because they want to use skills to help other people or themselves or use it in business as an ADDITION to skills they already have, for example goal setting, seeing other peoples point of view (which yes does involve using dissassociative states Liam george). However there are people that can use NLP as a form of manipulation, just like I can use a steak knife to cut into my juicy bit of tender steak or I can use it to stab it in your face…same tool, very different intents.

   Now if anybody know the theory of the six degrees of separation you will know that theoretically you can link anyone in the world by around 6 people, so yes if you hunt long enough you will see a link to anyone (if you do decide to invesitgate if you can see how i can be link up to jessica Alba in six people, please feel free to provide that infomation!). Now I am going to throw one out there and say that when there is a next terrorist attack you will link it to Barack Obama, even though you have spent years speculating about Bush, even though they are both polar opposites of each other, but that is what you guys do. So who cares if Mr Morris has links to Mr Mandelson, are you going to do some hunting and find he has links to Jesus as well, because im pretty sure he was using his fare share of hypnotic language back in his day.

   Baron von Lotsov, my guess is you may be not that popular in your area. To investigate someone that is supposed to be a friend or even not a friend, no wonder he became uptight, its hardly a way of being friendly to people. And yes I use NLP connections (but NLP traveller i dont believe their is a foot soldier movement going on, or maybe i havent been invited, maybe i should start wearing more purple ties) and although there are things i dont agree with (some peoples excessive use of the meta model), It is a place to gain more knowledge so you can become better yourself, afterall isn’t that what the internet is for, you find people who share a common interest and share knowledge, surely this is what UK column is about?

   The truth is I think if you talk to alot of people doing NLP they will be happy to explain what it is all about and not batter an eyelid if you dont agree with it, however if you start invesitgating them, bringing up how one of the founders was a coke addict and how the creator of a forum is a supposed satanist and a homosexual, then its gone from enquiring about NLP to personal insults. And Old associate people are aloud to have a girlfriend but then decide they prefer men, its called Bisexual, my friend is gay but he’s had a girlfriend in the past, its not a sign of dishonesty.

   By the way please answer me this question, seeing I live in the UK and the Tavistock is the primary programming centre for the UK I live within a 100 miles radius of Tavistock, is this the reason I have a craving for Ben & Jerrys, do I need to move out of the 100 mile radius or shall I move to another country, because its starting to take a hold now?

   And finally (sorry its a long post but ‘Life’ has done some mega posts so im thinking its ok). The notion that positive psychology is being brought into school, is that not a good thing when you consider that self harm in teenagers is on the rise, respect for elderly is declining and alcohol abuse is..well alot of young people use it. With positive psychology (and also NLP) the notion is to feel more POSITIVE about yourself, now im sure your all intelligent indiviudals so im sure you will know that you cant think a negative thought at the same time as a positive thought, so if children are taught to think positively about themselves, maybe…they are less likely to have a negative mindset about themselves and if you look at some of the most successful people in the world im willing to guess they have traits of positive thoughts and read about inspirational people….not read UK column.

   So while I go away and attempt to better myself as a coach and all round person rather than invesitgate how the wardrope habits of leaders are being used as covert messages I thank you for your time and hope you all have a good rest of the day…see I have shown gratitude both at the start and end of my post and gratitude is taught alot in positive psychology…just imagine if school kids are ‘brainwashed’ into showing more gratitude in their lives, i shudder to think.

   I can summarize your long and waffling post in the following sentence “what is wrong with spin?”…

   I find it quite amusing that with no evidence whatsoever you manage to extrapolate what “us people” (interesting use of language there, much like the global warming fanatics) think about 9/11 (which for the most part is that the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, otherwise known as the military wing of the British banking and financial Empire), ran 9/11 for the express purpose of installing a FASCIST dictatorship in the United States, which they almost, but not quite, succeeded in doing.

   People like you other other hand would rather spend your time “thinking positive” and clapping yourself and your fellow travelling idiot savants on the back about your latest gimmick for “technique” for “making the world a better place” while COMPLETELY IGNORING THE REALITY AROUND YOU.

     John Morton, your reply is succinct: Positive thinking’ as technique is devoid of any critical intelligence, lends itself to mind control.

     James, I can see you r well-meaning efforts in the area; I guess you are young, relatively, and ‘mean to do well’. But older and wiser people know and trust in the native god-given intelligence that we have to get us through things, and also encourage use of true intelligence, without fancy techniques; patience , courage, and other qualities. Technique lacks all spiritual qualities; it is mind control, or bending, nothing else.

     Your description of the historical foundations of NLP are fair as far as they go, but too simple: nothing is born out of itself – NLPs roots go farther back, and the studies you cite as its exemplar for skill that is effective, were most likely those taken up on suggestion to be put forward in popular journals, whilst promoting the research at public expense. It also signals a change in culture; (Alternatively funds, might have been spent on creating rest homes for shattered people, or ashrams for meditators etc, because they too have significant effective results). Many more informal and formal studies exist alongside and preceded NLP, for completely different purposes. It’s fair to say that it draws upon the experience of mind control programmes from the intelligence communities, and suits inner governments, Political Correctness, and media control of the public.
     NLP is a very general term now. I have to say, also , that people who seek such careers, are apt to be control freaks, to understand others by the power of their superior minds’ , or to enable businesses, cannot be relied upon to give a justifiable answer to the worth of their work. That’s because ‘they are trying to make the world a better place’, an enormous piece of learnt conceit, adopted by the young, foolish impressionable folk; people who are apt to be manipulated themselves, and demonstrate limits to rationale, critical thought , and thereby, experience. Instead it satisfies and dwarfs intellectual curiosity, by providing itself as a complete programme, the answer to the riddle of life, a professional technique.
     This is all instead of other pursuits , for example, producing nice local fresh garden produce, which may be more needed. BUt you still get your hands dirty. On the whole , it is an intervention, and unnecessary especially in a spiritually informed world, or a world of free trade and healthy competition. It’s an intervention that ignores and tries to bypass natural processes, and native intelligence. A chat and a cup of tea might just do the trick instead. As for your part in things, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Isnt that what cults and scientology groups do when met with a differing of opinion? (is this an example of the spin you were talking about becuase ive relooked at my post and cant really find any)

   John, i think you’ll find that i didnt use ‘you people’, I did use ‘you guys’ but seeing I dont know every single persons name on this website I couldnt use every single persons name, but as you will see I have used peoples names at places.

   And let me explain what my reality has given me in this Military fascist world; A university education, free NHS care when i need it, the option of private healthcare if i want to pay for it, a job so I can save to travel around Canada, money to further my education, access to live music gigs becuase i like music (it was lucky enough to allow me to go to two festivals this year!), easy access through the country so I can go and see my friends and access to the internet so i can get infomation on how to look after myself. So as you can see my fantasy world is just rosy thanks very much, even with a recession and high unemployment and the ‘bildenberg’ vying for world domination.

   And seeing you have the ability to read and write, enough money for clothes and access to the internet and not locked up in some underground bunker guarded by secret police, my guess it has been good to you as well (that was to anyone, not just john Morton).

   Now im not the creative sort so i havent been patting anyone on the back lately about my latest gimmick technique. However im sure it i wanted to become more creative I would find out who is really creative and then use NLP techniques to find out how they do what they do…just like a lot of people that do NLP do, all whilst thinking positively….most of the time.

   If you are reading this line thank you for continuing through my ‘waffling’ and ’spin’ and to Mike Grossbard i am not avoiding answering your questions i do not know Chris Morris and certainly dont know Peter Mandelson, so am not obligued to answer those questions on their behalf.

   All,

   On legal advice, following communication from Chris Morris, I have taken down about 15 comments from this article.

   Mr Morris does not wish his emails to be published, so I will abide by his wishes here.

   What I will say is that Mr Morris alleged in his emails that comments from Mike Grossbard, Old associate, chichi, Phill, the structure, nlp traveller and Nick Kemp were all, in fact, written by Nick Kemp, who has apparently been a very busy man with nothing better to do than run around different internet connections making comments about Mr Morris.

   Mr Morris objected to much of the content in the comments posted by these commentors, particularly to the allegations regarding falsification of professional qualifications, that his employment with Mr Mandelson was in a very junior capacity and his links to gay porn websites among others.

   He very graciously admitted that my original article was fair enough.

   Can I ask that anyone posting information on this matter in future make sure that backup documentation is sent to me. In the meantime, I have all the taken down comments and will be following up on them.

    well John you do like to look at the bad parts of the world, please dont leave out gun crime, knife crime and the rise in teenage pregnancy. But then would it not be so hard to look at the positive things in the world i.e equal rights for woman, collapse of apartheid, collapse of the black slave trade, the increasing number of social entrenpaneurs (i.e nobel prize winner Mohammad Yunus), the two richest men in the world donating most of their wealth to charity (Bill Gates & Warren Buffett), medical breakthroughs.

    It does make me laugh when it seems when you base your message on the notion of fear (EVIL, Creepy, start rounding people up)…the same notion of fear George Bush used within his speechs. And Im dont think your keen on him (and before you retort, he thinks he’s talking the truth as well)

    It makes me laugh when you criticise NLP as being ‘cult-like’ when you have the same cult like mentality that you are right and the people that dont agree with you dont see the truth and incapable of understanding. And by the way John when you wrote;

    I found this site on a google search while researching for an article on Mandelson. There seem to be a lotof unanswered questions relating to the original posters question. Mr Morris is identified as a former activist here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Morris_(activist) and instrumental in lowering the age for gay consent and the redirected Mandelson site to the NLP social networking group appears to have a big quota of pro gay activists. I too would like to know what connection Mandelson has with this activist group

    There are runmblings about this Chris Morris / Mandelson relationship and it seems that Morris is once again very worried about what may be unearthed by a bit of careful digging. His own NLP Connections site has recently had a number of peope ask about the Mandelson issue and all such references have now been removed by te camp followers. Word has it that Private Eye will be publishing in forthcoming months elements that will be of interest to ll those that detest spin and mamipulation

    I trained in NLP in 2004 but don’t use it much these days. I find Chris and the NLP Camp followers delightful and don’t consider Chris to in anyway be gullty of the accusations made against him in relation to Mandelson and his alledged dodgy websites
