Last night’s Channel 4 News carried an interview between John Snow and the TUC’s Brendan Barber.
Commenting on the unemployment figures released earlier, Barber said, “We want to see the same focus and energy and determination that has been applied to the crisis in the banking sector applied to the real economy. We need a recovery plan for the real economy, and that’s got to be about maintaining demand in the economy, not letting jobs go needlessly.”
Good start.
“Its got to be about maintaining public expenditure programmes …”
Uh, oh.
Snow asked, “You’ve been calling for a big recovery plan, what’s yours?”
“Well, we certainly do need to see cuts in interest rates,” Barber replied, “and I think that the BoE needs to get ahead of the curve. The problem that the economy is facing is not now inflationary pressures – all the economists agree inflation is going to start very sharply, I think, during the course of the next year.”
Wrong.
“I think we need to see the government thinking radically about how they use public expenditure to help support the economy. I mean look across to the United States, they’ve followed our lead on the banking recovery and the best approach to that crisis, but we’ve seen the American government investing huge amounts of money in tax cuts to help maintain demand in the economy, to help protect the living standards of ordinary Americans. I think the government needs to think very radically.”
Well, there you go. How does an idiot like this get to lead Britain’s unions? (He’s probably a Common Purpose graduate …)
During the interview, it was mentioned that Tony McNulty, Minister of State for Employment and Welfare Reform, had offered to meet with Barber. If Barber had any balls at all, he would be visiting Mr McNulty with a “big recovery plan” along the lines of:
- Cancel all derivatives debt – NOW! Then we can perhaps get our financial system back on an even keel.
- Don’t maintain government expenditure programmes … EXPAND THEM! Invest at least as much in sponsoring high technology economic infrastructure projects as has been spent bailing out the banks. Use high technology infrastructure as the driver to kick start the economy back to life. Start off with pebble-bed nuclear reactors, maglev, Cargo Cap. Invest in fusion technology. Take advantage of the present situation to drag our oligarchical elites kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.
But sadly, Mr Barber is either too stupid or too scared to face up to the reality of the economic situation we face. He calls for focus, energy and determination. He should show some of that himself.
Can I suggest that anyone reading this that is a member of a union write to Mr Barber, as well as to the head of their own union, and point them at this article. I’d be interested in their comments.

I have had my suspicions for some time now, that the Unions are all part of the Con which has be foisted on the ordinary working man and woman in this country. Are all the Union leaders bought and payed for by some hidden hand behind the scenes? We all know who controlled the American Unions in the 20/30’s. Does the same apply in the UK? Like so many “institutions” if that is the right word, they all seem toothless tigers.
Unions = Communists = Common Purpose
= EU Police state = World Governement = Slavery for all
None of the solutions above will make any difference, NOR are they intended to. Mr Barber’s ill informed suggestion has no more or less merit than any other being bandied around. Definitely an excellent example of the blind leading the blind.
The issue, the root cause of this intended and pre-planned mess, the mechanism without which this debacle could never have arisen is . . .
. . . usury.
Specifically, we are held captive by a TYPE of money that ensures, through the way the system is designed, that ever more finance is driven into ever fewer hands. It has always been thus.
98% of ALL money used in the west is created as interest bearing debt by the private banks, regulated (lol) by the Central Banking Cartel. Less than 3% is issued as debt free, non-interest bearing cash. This means that were you to take a snaphot of the money supply in the economy, you would see for example, $100 trillion in money, but $110 trillion in money owed to the banks. The additionla $10 trillion in this example is the interest accruing on the $98 trillion issued by the banks as interest bearing debt.
So how does the economy resolve this imbalance?
Simple. Everyone, everything, every business is continually induced to take out further loans (at interest of course) so that the new money created by this process will be made available in the economy so that it can be used to pay some of the $10 trillion the banks are owed in interest charges.
End result?
A perpetual increase in the amount of money in the economy, perpetual un-repayable debt, perpetual corruption of markets as businesses seek, by hook or by crook, to out-do the other guy.
Think of it as a feedback loop. The market collapse last week was the PA blowing up.
A solution?
Create the INTEREST due on the loan at the same time that the loan is issued.
The way in which Interest works (or doesn’t, in actuality) is at the root of the problem. It is poor systems engineering. Our current system is maintained by appalling mechanics.
Say a bank lends out £1000 at 10% (to keep our figures simple). The bank creates the £1000 out of thin air and thereby swells the money supply by £1000. But it now has a legally enforceable right to receive £1100. The problem is this:
The £100 in interest has NOT BEEN CREATED AT THE POINT OF THE LOAN.
Where is the £100 to be found by the borrower? It can only be found by other people taking out loans that swell the money supply with our borrower aiming to get some of that so he can find the £100 interest.
The flaw at the heart of the banking system is therefore this:
Banks are always owed an amount of money (capital + interest) THAT IS GREATER THAN THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT EXISTS.
The only way to deal with this, is for the system to continually issue ever more interest bearing loans so that the liquidity is in the market to enable current loans and interest to be paid.
Think of it as a feedback loop in an audio circuit. What we have just had is a loud BANG as the circuit couldn’t hold the feedback anymore.
EXAMPLE OF HOW HONEST INTEREST WOULD WORK
When a man is loaned £1000 at 10%, the bank creates both the £1000 and the £100 interest ie £1100 total. It pays itself £100, giving the £1000 to the borrower. The bank will in due course spend that £100 into the economy meaning that the interest amount exists for the borrower to obtain it. The system does not have to keep generating new loans to generate the £100. The system is in balance. The banks are now owed an amount equal to or less than the total amount of money in the system.
So no feedback. No pointless loans. No aberrations and complications in the system.
The type of money we use, interest bearing credit, is designed to transfer all wealth into ever fewer hands. Until we change it, we change nothing. No Govt measure will have the slightest effect unless this systemic design fault is rectified.

But the government? they know we are getting more and more vocal and are attempting to fight their illegalities as much as we can. So? they stay ahead each time by using ever more CCTV monitoring; listening and keeping all phone/fax/e-mail/text/letters/ etc. If we ever found a worhty Winston to take control and lead, they (police thugs) would kick our doors down, terrorise our families, drag us away lock us up as internal terrorist threat, confiscate your home and property, and probably ship us to another corrupt E.U. dictatorship state! It aboiut time us “the People” started our own data-base with all the traitors names, addresses, their family details, work place, cars owned, etc; get the ideal? they would surely start feeling as persecuted as us!!!
As English and damn proud of it, i am proud of my heart of oak and am prepared to stand up and fight on my feet, not on my knew as a slave!

Life. You made a very good comment earlier about the earth tilting on its axis. This is why I agree with you. I have lived in the same house for the past 45 years. I have noticed that the Sun is rising in different positions on the horizon. Even a neighbour has noticed this as there are a group of houses that have been there since the late 1950’s and we have noticed that at certain times of the year, although I haven’t bothered to pinpoint the exact dates because we’ve only noticed it in the past 3 years, the Sun is rising at a different point on the horizon to what it was 30 years ago.

I need as much information as humanly possible in relation to the exact psychological system Common Purpose are using in Educating our children and indeed we adults through all the home learning courses they are pushing presently.

The whole idea of the banking industry is to fleece everyone in the world of person property. This is why the system was built, with usery as the main weapon. The government has no say in the banking world, it never has. The truth is the UK corporation is bankrupt. The only substance they use to back up the fake monetary system is our labour. The politicians are scared of the bankers as president woodrow Wilson said in 1919 after he passed the federal reserve act ” I am the most unhappy man I have unwittingly ruined this country, a great industrial country is now controlled by its system of credit we are no longer a government of conviction but by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men” ie the banksters.
